A true life experience!

AmeriGo-DC was born out of the desire to answer the requests from many friends to have a familiar place for their children in Washington, DC, where they could learn the language and more importantly experience a new culture.

After many years of hospitality, we learned that a full day program in the summer is what is needed. Students are helped to use their time abroad wisely and engage themselves in the novelty offered by their host families, school and social life in the USA.

A day with AmeriGo-DC

Students travel to school every morning around 8:00/8:30 am using public transportation. The host family provides a packed lunch every day and lunch is had in school with many friends. Every afternoon, the students explore DC and engage in new activities and relationships guided by our collaborators and return to their host families around 6:00 pm. Weekends and evenings are spent with the families and friends except for one Saturday trip to New York City and one day at the Ocean. Students will attend a welcoming English School in Bethesda, an elegant city right outside DC. The classrooms are composed of only 6 students who come from different parts of the world. This is a safe environment that allows students to build lasting friendships.
